Anybody who has in fact labored or managed production on the shop floor of a large production and manufacturing organization recognizes that a correct new alternative aspect or barrel wouldn't be out there in each instance. And no factory would at any time deliver one from scratch if there was an oval P barrel available for instant use. My very own Paramount Motion picture SRC has actually been spouse and children owned since 1939 and is just like the 5 others I have Individually examined.

For barrels & receivers manufactured soon after 1905: Receivers acquiring the “WP” proof but no “WP” or “Oval P” proof over the barrel would point out the barrel was replaced outside of Winchester employing a pre-1905 barrel.
